Minimum Rank?

I just tried to use an hp scroll on newbie alt, and was given the not experienced enough text, which led me to wonder what items have min ranks, and how to find out what it is?

I know on most things, you can ID them and it tells you the min rank, however when I ID'd my mana scroll it didn't say anything but the power.

There is a difference between min rank and min stats.
The ID spell should tell you both.

If it says "You don't know how to use that" or "You don't have enough life force to use that" or "You're not brave enough to use that" ett then you do not have the min attrib/skill/stats to use the item. This is not rank related.

If it says "You're not experienced enough to use that" then this is rank related.

I think hes trying to figure out what rank you need to be to use health and mana scrolls

hm .... the code says it should say Min.Rank if one exists.
The spell behaves differently. This is a mystery.

Further investigation indicated that sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not. This depended on what came before and after the request to print the min rank.

The cause was that "\n" was missing from the print line so the line was sent to the buffer but only actually printed depending on what came after it.

This is now fixed.

What about a min rank for using a present, I've only encountered this once and makes me really curious as to what is inside?

It should not matter what the item is.
If it has a minimum rank it should now tell you.
If it does not tell you then it is being a very naughty item and will need to be disciplined - severely.
