13. UNIQUE WEAPONS In order to ensure the game is fair, and all players have a chance at getting a unique item. We have restricted the number of uniques a player can own. The current limit is 2 per person not per character.
Storing uniques in clan halls or on the ground elsewhere is strictly forbidden. All uniques found in these areas will be re-distributed into the game without any warning. | |

| Nope fire armor and ice are the exceptions since they are a set. It was either posted in rules or on the forum by a god during the great unique debate.

In the history of this game, there has never been any instance of someone selling his unique armor. The only reason you even have fire sleeves is because doom got deleted 2 years ago. Same thing for cloak being redistributed. This leads me to believe that these pieces of armor should either be replicated or made to decay. I am sure that venom still has some pieces of unique armor and hasnt logged for over 7months.

| Awhile back i bought the fire chest piece and then held a lottery to give it away. Uniques do move around quite a bit. | |

| Wish there was a way to make uniques go back into circulation if a char doesnt have a cirtain amount of time played in the last month. | |

| Hey guys, just dropping in with some of that oldschool wisdom.
I played the original version of this game for years, near the start right til the end. When the server went down me and my partners possessed over 2/3 of all the uniques in the game.
Andy: That rule is a joke and only serves to restrict players in how they want to play the game. I'm not hating on you for quoting it, I'm sure you didn't make up the rule. Why would Venom even play this game when he plays the role of trader?
Asmodeus: If people don't want to trade their armor, who cares. If you want something bad enough you'll get it if you work hard enough. I had the shadow helmet in my possession quite a few times as well as pieces of fire armor. Find out who has it and then find out what you need to do to get it. Maybe they won't sell it, maybe they'll loan it?
Dinin: I don't believe uniques move around a bit. I speak from a hoarders perspective. They are treasures you don't let go of easily.
Tulkas: You can't take items from a player just because they haven't logged in recently. That's silly! One thing that would help though, if all the uniques were able to activate by anyone instead of Purple to use Purple, Skua to use Skua, I don't know how the Gorn and Kwai activate. If these items gave a permanent boost on activate you'd see more of them moving around. Some of the weapons I activated didn't seem to last too long as a buff.
Maybe increase the bonus time from 15/30 minutes, or whatever it is to 3 hours or so, you'd probably get more people activating their godly weapons. | |

| i dont think taking them away should be done lightly, but whats the point of a unique if its just going to sit on someones alt they only log in every 6 months? thats a waste and i feel there should be some way to have uniques be an active part of the game. but i also agree they need to be worth moving around a bit. most people dont give a damn about them except maybe if they got their hands on fire set or maybe shadow helm. im included i dont see the purpose of owning a unique that is of no practical value/use to you. thats why hoarders get most of the uniques on the server cuz no one else cares enough to try to get them. | |

If you can get Venom on then i'll gladly explain to him that this rule is to prevent stagnation of uniques and increase the circulation. If this post doesn't stay on topic then I will have to lock or move it | |

| If I had something like a math hat or fire cloak I can assure you the only way it would reenter circulation is my death or deletion. Hence why they should have like a 6 month rot time on them or something. |

| I think Ice Armour was introduced with a set life so that it should recirculate over time.
New items could also be introduced with the same characteristic. Maybe some godly axes .... | |

| I will say this and I have proposed it millions of times but I do hope this gets integrated into the game.
It would be the greatest addition to the game if Fire set and all the uniques became part of a great gear treadmill system. Right now, there are very few things to strive for in the endgame except stacking pots, godly armors and rolling alts ad nauseum.
My suggestion was to make this armor into a reward for a great and long treadmill. Let's say once you reach a certain rank you get a quest that allows you to gain access to one of these items. So for example, you have to bring in an uber leveled SS and some other high end tier items like stat scrolls and crafted pieces. At which point you could trade in these items for a piece of unique gear.
Giving a new life to the item market and possibly a gold sink. Back when Mel had his server we would talk about a way to get unique items into circulation such as extremely rare undetectable drops on monsters in the game.
I could elaborate more but It would be nice to be able to circumvent the uniques being unique and out of general population grasp. This game is not very new player friendly in terms of uniques and the most prized ones generally never swap hands under normal circumstances.
While Blade did have his hands on a wide load of uniques, It was the same situation for me when I created the Order of Shadows. We had about 30 uniques lying on our CH floor. At that point we had almost all uniques in OoS possession and it was a very unfair situation. Having a lot and not using them trumps their purpose. I just wish we could all be able to share in the wealth instead of relying on the hope that somehow they will trade hands or players will get deleted.

| At this point I could care less if someone has the whole dang fire set as long as its someone that plays. As it is now some noble gets a piece, gets bored of playing and then it just sits there unused for months at a time. |

| The Ice Armour has an automatic expiry date with the intention of getting it back into circulation over time.
The other original uniques do not expire.
How about - any unique left on the ground/carpet OR any unique on a character not active for, say 3 months, will automatically get the autoexpire flag set.
Once set it can not be reset so it will join the Ice Armour pieces in being auto deleted after a set period of time and recirculated through the game.
Will that help the scenario? | |

| I would be cooler if they actually rotated more often than still sitting on the same person, even if it was for 3 months, still is a lot. Making them have a really good activation, that last a few hours, could actually make people use them. I would propose that once its being used, it doesnt go right into the game again. But instead for example, make it go back to the gods, and they can decide when to put it back in the chest. May it be a day, or even a week later. | |

| Sounds pretty good except for one detail LL, but it is a big step in the right direction. It should have to also be hit or receive a certain amount of damage (I know they are unbreakable). Maybe maintain a certain amount of online time where they are not standing on the same hex? It still prevents people from just logging on once every 1-2 months and keeping them. Cathy and Amanar or whoever should have to toss them on a char and enter pents every now and again instead of sitting in temple to talk once every 3 months for 5 minutes.
Speaking of ice armor.. I havnt seen that in a LONG time. Infact, I cant remember the last time I even glimpsed it. |

| Inactive chars for 3months sounds good, but the way it stands grimreaper (major holder of unique armors) hasnt REALLY been online at all in the last 6 months but he refreshes his characters every month or so...
Is there a way to make it so you need to play for X amount of hours over X amount of days? Or does that coding get too complicated? I was trying to collect fire armor pieces but was really discouraged that I could never get a hold of grim. (He is opposite time zone as me).
