New client download available

The new client download is now on the website and the old client is no longer available.

The new client will NOT work until the server have been updated this weekend.

The server will be updated this weekend when I can find a few hours that not many people are online.
I need to run a full backup, run the data converter, restart the server and then test the changes were all installed correctly.

Best case 30 minutes down time.
Bad case a few hours.

I will probably target Saturday night Perth time (GMT+ Cool

which will be early Saturday morning US time and middle of the day in the UK.

You will know it is live when the old client no longer works.

There are two versions available - in zip format or self extracting .exe format. Both are identical apart from the method of extraction.

The new client is now live.

Make sure you turn on Compatibility Mode for WinXP or whatever you did previously for your PC.

I am no longer able to log into the server. I have the new client downloaded and unzipped into a seperate folder from the old client, I am running it in compatability mode for Windows xp Service pack 2. I am also running it as an administrator. When I try and log in using the client I get a black screen. I also tried logging in using DxWnd, that allows me to get to the log in screen, then it disappears. The client is in my task manager, but I am unable to log in. I am using windows 7

Delete the 3 .dll files in the download folder and see if that helps.

Haven't been able to get onto the website in a few days to download. Is the website down or am I doing something wrong?

I have the exact same problem. Deleting the 3 .dll files did not fix it either.

Will look into it more.

Ok already found the fix.

Are you using D3DWindowed program to run it in?

If so,

Under "common", uncheck "use windowed mode".

Worked for me and still in small window.

By the way, almost all the sprites that people sent to me over the past however many months were included in the recent client update and are ready for the intrepid build team to utilise as they see fit.
