cant get game to gain focus/show on screen

ok this is stupid, was working fine just yesterday, now no matter what i do i cant get the game to gain focus

game tries to start, screen goes black as per normal but instead of seeing the game i see my desktop, game is still running and i can hear the "mayest thou pass the last gate"

but no matter how many times i click on the open window on the taskbar, screen just goes black and returns to desktop, its almost like its minimizing itself when i try to start it or give the game focus

baaad was hoping to reach captain today on magicka

Win7X64, nothing has been changed since it last work, even tried redownloading the game and reinstalling over the top to no avail, OldFriend was talking about a new GUI, could that be it?

tried renaming my custom GUI so that its not being used, that didnt work either, thoughts?

edit: just tried updating my graphics driver, no luck

even Switch To.. in task manager just returns me to desktop

Try running in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Some players in Win 7 have this problem - especially if they have Uber over powered graphics cards.

One day if ever I upgrade my PC I may have the same problem.

Doesn't help , wonder why it would play up all of a sudden, normally its on winxp sp3 compatability

Aranock needs a config utility to select onboard graphics or something

Edit: Zomg I been restarting my comp all of yesterday, I turn it on this morning and it works...

Piece of junk Pryon PC....

OMG its happening again dont understand why one day it works and the next it doesnt what do i do?

If you have a newish high end graphics card - see if there are any options to be able to "dumb it down".

This game used to run on the old Pentium 60 computers with the most basics of graphics.
